The music is the heart of the night. DJ Hermigervill warms up the room at the White Rabbit, sends each wave of runners into the Shoreditch streets with a playlist of Icelandic sounds built for pace, then closes out the evening back at the bar. Guiding you through it all is Icelandic storyteller Ragnar Bragason, who welcomes the room, sets the tone, sends the runners off, and greets every finisher as they come home. In between there's an Icelandic pre-run snack to fuel you up before you hit the streets of Shoreditch, and an ice-cold Aurora cocktail waiting for every runner who crosses the finish line.
And two runners won't just finish the night, they'll fly. Each wins a trip for two to Reykjavík for the Winter Light Festival in February 2027, with a place in the city's Northern Lights Run. One prize goes to the most creative costume, the other to the best photo taken along the way.

Reykjavík is the world's northernmost capital, yet one of its most walkable: a compact, colourful city you can cross on foot in an afternoon. For its size, it offers far more culturally than you might expect, with a thriving music scene, design studios, galleries, bookshops, geothermal pools and a café and restaurant culture that belies the population. Nature is never far, with mountains, ocean and open sky framing the streets, and the northern lights often visible from the city itself on dark winter nights. The calendar matches the energy. Each February the Winter Lights Festival brightens the darkest season with art, light installations and events across the city, among them the Northern Lights Run, a 5K through the floodlit streets.
