Reykjavík Culture Night
Culture Night is created by and for the city's residents. While the event has "night" in the description, there are events throughout the day—starting with the very popular Islandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon in the morning. Culture Night occurs across central Reykjavik, with celebrations in the streets, squares, museums, businesses, and even residential gardens!

The event's slogan is "Come on in!"'which refers to good old-fashioned Icelandic hospitality. Reykjavik Culture Night marks the start of the city's cultural year when museums, theatres, and other cultural venues launch their annual program of events. The main objective of Reykjavik Culture Night is to deliver a diverse and rich offering of cultural events from 1-11 PM, ending with a magnificent firework show by the harbor. Reykjavik Culture Night is organized and produced by the events team at Reykjavík Cultural Office in collaboration with other city departments, organizations, artists, societies, and the efforts of countless others. All events are free of charge for everyone to enjoy.
