Klemens Hannigan
Klemens Hannigan, one of the internationally known Icelandic shock-art project HATARI's two lead singers, released his first solo album, 'Low Light,' in February 2024.
The album departs from HATARI's gleeful nihilist cynicism as Klemens strikes a more honest tone. It's always hard to describe personal, earnest creations, so we're calling it soulful and, at times, wistful slow-dance deep-pop.
The album was co-produced by Leifur Björns of Low Roar and UK electronic legend Howie B.
superserious
Superserious, an indie band from Iceland, burst onto the music scene in 2021 with a mission to inject a refreshing dose of fun and irreverence into the industry. The band's lineup consists of Daniel, the vocalist and songwriter; Kristinn, the producer and bassist; Haukur, who handles guitar and video editing duties; and Helgi, who holds down the rhythm on drums.
Fueled by a shared disdain for the overly serious demeanor often associated with artists and musicians, Superserious set out to create powerful indie music reminiscent of the spirited wave that defined the 2010s. Drawing inspiration from iconic acts like The Strokes, Pixies, The Cardigans, and The Hives, the band skillfully blends alternative rock and indie pop elements to craft a unique sound.
DJ Hermigervill
A longtime heavyweight of the Icelandic music scene, Hermigervill, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer, and DJ, has worked with many notable Icelandic artists, produced many Icelandic number-one hits, and released innumerable records under various guises.
