Stockfish Film Festival in Reykjavík is the film industry's festival in Iceland. It was founded in 2015, as a reincarnation of the Reykjavík Film Festival (Kvikmyndahátíð í Reykjavík), which was established in 1978. The 8th edition of the festival takes place from the 24th of March – 3rd of April 2022 and is held in Bíó Paradís. The festival will be screening over 20 international award-winning films, offering Q&As with directors and a plentiful industry program.
The festival aims to create a platform in Reykjavík to encourage collaboration between domestic and international film communities and allows the general audience to see some of the most up-and-coming art-house films in the world. Stockfish Film Festival opens on the 24 March at 19:00 with the Ukrainian film Klondike that was released earlier this year and won awards both at the Berlinale and Sundance this year. Leading Actress Oksana Cherkashyna will attend the screening and answer questions after the screening. You can find more information about the movies and the festival's schedule in .
